To the glory of the Father, the
Son, and the Holy Spirit, one God in three Persons. Amen.

"For 'whoever calls upon
the name of the Lord shall be saved'. How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they
believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?", Romans 10, 13-14 (NKJV).
St Paul was both a hearer and
a doer of the Word: "Therefore he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and with the Gentile worshippers, and in the
market place daily with those who happened to be there", Acts 17, 17 (NKJV).
Do you already take part in street
evangelism or table evangelism?
Or
do you feel that God may be calling you to take part in it; or to support it in prayer? I have a vision, which I believe is of God, for a table
of witness to Jesus Christ to be set up in every town, and for many to be set up in every city, in the UK and beyond.
Such a network of tables, providing support and encouragement to one another, would provide a springboard for evangelism
as the Good News of Jesus Christ was widely and publicly proclaimed in many places. Additionally, Christians in all those
places would be encouraged and would in return encourage those who first encouraged them.
Ideally, these tables
would be provided and supported by local churches in order to involve whole congregations in prayer and outreach.
Please pray that my vision, by the power of God, may become a reality.
My name is Maurice
Smithson, and I have exercised a ministry of street evangelism and table evangelism in Oxford city-centre since the beginning
of 2007.
To assist and encourage others who have this calling, or who suspect they may
have it, I have written a book entitled "You prepare a table
before me". It describes my experience of publicly proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ;
it includes chapters on how I got started, on how I use a table, on preaching, on tracts, on material for the table, on discussions,
on prayer, and on the importance of the work of the Holy Spirit. The first two-thirds of the book is about practical aspects
of street evangelism, and the last one-third is about spiritual aspects of it.
"You prepare a table before me" is available postage-free
in the UK as a paperback from Amazon.com, and as a file download for reading on an e-reader, PC, Mac, iPhone,
etc from Lulu.com.

Lastly, if you feel this web-site could help to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ then please
let other Christians know about it, particularly those in positions of influence and authority. Thank you.
